Wild hippos are big and strong and remarkably fast on their feet. Adult males have been known to kill lions. Baby hippos, on the other hand, are too cute to eat. Except as cookies.
In 2024 Moo Deng, a baby pygmy hippo with a delicious name translated as "bouncy pork", dominated social media. So naturally we designed Moo Deng cookie cutters. Two, in fact.
The first cutter is designed for 1/8" thick sugar cookie dough. Roll out, dip the cutter in flour, and press in. If the cutter sticks (near room temperature dough is best) insert a chop stick though the holes to release. Refrigerate for 30 minutes, then bake. The cold dough helps preserve the imprint.

The second cookie cutter is designed in two parts: a plunger/piston and a cutting rim. Works on a variety of dough thicknesses and recipes, and replaces chopsticks with the plunger. Roll out the dough, dip the cutter in flour and press in. Then insert the plunger into the cutter to incise the eyes ears wrinkles and toes- not much pressure is required. Finally, while gently holding the plunger against the dough with one hand, lift the cutter up and away from the dough with the other- then remove the plunger. This two step cut-plunge keeps the dough in place and prevents sticking:
