This
actual working solar rocker is made from blown glass. The outer
diameter of the wheel is 11 inches, and each small sphere is 3 inches
in diameter. Two, twenty-watt halogen bulbs illuminate each sphere,
and the rocker period can be adjusted from 15 to 150 seconds by
sliding a small weight along one of the arms. The center of the
rocker rolls on a tapered rod.
The
entire mechanism is completely silent, and self-starting. Note how
the rocker shifts and projects shadows on the far wall.
The "mani" solar rocker lamp is available for sale at talusfurniture.
